SPDA News : Season recap.. The Battle Continues!

SPDA News

It's crunch time and only 2 more events left in the season. The battles rage on! Within each class, the titles are still up for grabs:

It's been a fantastic year for the SPDA and for Subaru's in general. We've had fun in all of the events, and competed with a friendly attitude. We've also had our share of controversy with regards to our launch style. I say.. Go for it! Next year is next year, let's continue dominating and continue sharing our success with our peers and continue bolstering each other to speed up the learning curve for all involved, from veterans to rookies.

Two thumbs up for everyone... Here's a recap..

DSP
1 Andrew C 01 VW GTi 2345678 596.721
2 Mike A 00 Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS 12345678 595.016
3 Luca P 00 Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS 12345678 586.273

A mere 1 point separates Mike A and 1st place. If mike can pull off 2 class wins, he'll steal the DSP Crown and win his class. Now if Luca can pull off 2 class wins, then he kicks his buddy Mike out of the running and is still in the position to steal it all away. The battle continues....

DSS
It's amazing how this maniacal mullet turned from rookie to rocky. He jumped from the pan directly into the fire, and in a short season became a contender, pulling off several surprises in honing his skills during the heat of the Regional competition. Why he chose to hone his skills the hard way, no one knows.. But watch out for the Schuppster, he'll sneak up and bite you when you're not looking. That sneaky SOB er OBS!

ESP
This has been an exciting time for one of the most competitive classes. Not only do these 2 compete for FTD, there's a personal grudge match and an overpowering need to "one up" each other. The surprising thing about this competitive duo, is that they do so while sharing track information. This obviously works, as they have each set FTD's beating out the old highguard.

You know who they are: Batman and Robin, the Dynamic Duo.

Suffice it to say, ESP will be won by a Subaru.. Which one?

ESS
Another Class dominated by the SPDA, the battle rages on, and this event will show a definite turn around in leaders. Daniel has been a runaway competitor in the series, beating out many competitors in higher classes. If he keeps his scooby beyond the 19th, he stands a good chance of stealing the 1st place crown away from Peter Wong. Pete has been a consistent performer all season, running like clockwork and steady as a she goes. Suffice it to say that ESS will be swept in a Subaru 3 way.

1 Peter W 04 Subaru WRX Wagon 234 678 591.441
2 Rhys H N 02 Subaru WRX 1234567 584.431
3 Daniel F 02 Subaru WRX 1 5678 500.000
4 Doug P 97 Chev Camaro Z28 1 5 188.983

FSP
This class has been fun, and later in the season, became more challenging due to the suspension and tranny change of one of the competitors. The next event will either make it or break it for the SPDA domination of classes.

1 Joe T 00 Subaru Legacy GT 12 45678 599.521
2 Tod F 93 Honda Civic 1 345678 585.620
3 Matt B 00 Subaru Legacy GT 12345678 580.763
4 Kerry L 97 Subaru Legacy GT 1234567 566.149

AS
This class has been one of the most fun to watch. The battle between Trung (Smiley) and Alain (Alf) has resulted in tempers flaring. The competition remains hot and the title looks like it's still safely in Trung's hands. Now, if Alain can win the next 2 events and acquire a full 100 points, then it will be a steal... Let's keep a close eye on this one.

1 Trung D N 04 Subaru Impreza STI 12345678 596.103
2 Alain H 04 Subaru STi 2 5678 496.542
3 Mike M 03 Nissan 350Z 1 345 369.470
4 Kyle L N 04 Subaru STi 2 45 289.813

DSS is the mystery class that is a nightmare if you're not prepped for and experienced in. There is a single Subaru in the class, yours truly, the Maniacal Mullet. I'm not in the running, I don't even look. That might explain why no names were listed. I might have moved up now, haven't looked.

However one of the leaders, Wes, is the driver I gauge my times against. I use a "Wes Pax" of 4 seconds now. This is better than the start of the year. I will be modding up or down next season so I have a chance....

Here it is: DSS:
MarshallM Prelude
WesT Civic
ShaneG Integra
DougL MazdaSpeed
StefanL Neon

And I'm #8.......
