275/40ZR17 4 tires for me as well.

Doug do you have any old Ra1's in that size that I can take off your hands cheap? I need them for mocking up to see what I need to do to make them fit.

I have two sets of RA-1's here from last year. Will probably purchase another set midsummer of 255-40/17.

Small chance that I can make that 275-40/17. Really small.

Sorry never ran them before. I just got rid of some V710s that you could have had to mock up. If you wanted to talk tothe guy I could look up his number.

When my tires are in we might be able to set something up before they go on the car. These will be my street tires so not much time to play.

Will the 245/45/16 on a 16x8 rim fit on a wagon with hotbits and rolled rear fenders?

If so, 4 of those - otherwise, 4 225/50/16 I guess.

Any idea on when the R888 will be available?

I have 17x8 inch wheels. I currently have 225-45-17's on.

If the following is not the optimum size tire for these wheels please let me know. Otherwise I am guessing the following will fit.

235-45-17 4 tires.

Maxine, I'd maybe try the 235/40-17 on your wheels / car. The 8.0" wide rim is acceptable for that size, and it will lower your gearing a little to give you more grunt.

That's the size I started with from Toyo. And I think that's the size that Kyle used to do 95.X seconds around the big track at Mosport.

And even better... they're a little bit cheaper than the 235-45/17

Steve, Thank you for this. Sounds good to me as I do want to try solosprint this summer. So here is my tire requirement.

I was speaking with Toyo about another issue earlier today, and had the opportunity to address some questions that members have been asking me. I received permission to post some news about the coming price changes for our SPDA members.

225/45/15 list price $295 should not change in April
225/50/15 list price $290 should not change in April
225/50/16 list price $373 should not change in April
245/45/16 list price $365 will increase to $376 on April 1st
235/40/17 list price $355 will increase to $362 on April 1st
235/45/17 list price $380 will increase to $391 (!! I told you Maxine!!)
255/40/17 list price $370 should not change in April

You can never be completely sure of what a Corporation has to do until it's done, but that's the plan at the moment. If you want to get 2006 prices, place your order with a R-Group dealer soon so that the tires arrive at their facility by March 31st 2007. You should still receive the 2006 pricing if they get there by that date.

---------------------------------------------------------

Okay, so you want to place your order but don't have your R-Group membership card yet.

Your Team Toyo / Race Group membership, once you apply on their website, will take approximately two weeks to process. This is their busy season and they're slugging through them as fast as they can. You will hopefully receive your R-Group membership package via Snail-Mail by March 26th.

To keep things simple, if you've been waiting more than two weeks, and if your package hasn't arrived by evening of March 26th, but you NEED to get your tires before March 31st to avoid paying an increase, shoot me a PM with the date you applied on and we'll funnel all of the rush inquiries through that way.

Not sure if you'll run Toyos this year? It doesn't hurt to finish the application so that you have the option to do so on short notice.

Hi Ben,

The sizes are all here: http://www.toyo.com/docs/tires/product_spec.asp?lpid=18968&name=Proxes%20RA-1™&category=sport

We should have checked them today while at the open house. The largest sizes they have are 335, but that's in the 18" rim size. Eeeek!!

The R888 Size chart (Availability starts later in 2007 for USA).. They have 4 compounds available, what we're interested in is their SG (Super Soft Compound).

Hope this helps.

Do you want Winnipeg quantities here too? I know two of us that will be wanting

235/40-17, 4 tires

I've got to figure out how to deal with the Toyo registration though, since I'm already on their system but at the 25% discount.

Thanks,

Sue :-)

If you are upgrading an existing discount:

- Sign into the www.toyoracing.com website with your username and password
- Go to "Change Racer's Profile"
- Change the "Team Name" to SPDA

Email the address I give you in PM asking for an Email stating your change from Code 4 to Code 1 discount.

Thanks Joe, that's ok, we'll most likely run 275 anyways for the street and wet.

I hope they come out with a 315/35/ZR17 R888 SG, wouldn't mind trying that out.

Ben

If it helps you, my "username" was my first name, and the "password" was the 8-digit code printed on the front of my R-Group card.

Hi Steve,

Well I contacted Talon Tire and they were great even though I didn't yet have my membership from Toyo Tire (I did have an email confirmation from them) but then I got a call from Jay at Talon saying Toyo Tire Racing Team did not have my Release of Liability Waiver on file.

I know I sent this because I recall my secretary kidding me about signing it without reading it. Unfortunately I don't recall the date but it was a good 3 or 4 weeks ago now.

I have tried to fax them a new (duplicate Waiver) and I have tried reaching them by phone but can't seem to get through by either method.

Talon tire can't ship to me until Toyo confirms receipt of that Waiver. I am in a catch 22. Any thoughts are welcome. :-x

Thanks,
Maxine

How to I contact Toyo to find out the status of my R-group membership?
I registered and mailed the waiver over 3 weeks ago.
I have not got any confirmation that they received it.
The only contact info I can find on their web site and by email but the web page gets an error when I try to send it through their web site.
