"Yeah, I want this guy as my instructor! He doesn't take no #*&! from cones!!"

(I kid... afterall, if anyone had a picture of my near-roll at the DDT Autoslalom, I doubt that students would get in a car with me that readily! My philosophy is that I want an instructor who has been off a lot and knows how to avoid that!)

That picture may be in safekeeping for a time when it has real value, Steve!

Then again, I might qualify as a "qualified" instructor - "qualified" being defined as "been off a lot". I know that there are no short pine trees on the lot at the Powerade Centre.

I'm volunteering for both days, and I'll have plenty of stories to tell about how the oh-so-expert-spank-my-??? rally crew of Steve and Opal were late to check point 1 by a full week.

SPRING RUNOFF IS APRIL 18th STEVE!

All together now,

Uhmmm. Good! They took my advice and changed the date of the rally to avoid the Autoslalom school. Good stuff!

(Note: Autoslalom school now conflicts with BMW club school.)

Mike, the open house had only ended an hour and 25 minutes before you posted. You need to give people at least until they get home before asking them to post lists.....

You are a lucky guy Mike, I tried bribing my wife with a new purse to get her to attend. No dice. :-?

Hi Mike,

We're working on updating the list, the registrations were "fast and furious" today and we had no internet access except for 1 computer. This years organizing club missed the requirement to have wireless access provided.

So there were several areas affected, including us.

I believe I saw your a "xxxxxxxwolf@xxxxxxxx" in the paypal registrations, I believe you're good to go.

Thanks for registering your better half.

Hi All,

Just a note that the Kennedy bridge over the 407 (Just south of the PowerAde Centre) was being worked on today, and the road was closed.

The construction worker I talked to said the bridge would be open on Saturday. Then he said they'd be done by the end of summer. So the bridge may or may not be open this weekend. Leave some extra time to travel around the bridge if you need to.

From the north end, the route is passable to the Powerade Centre, but you'll need to drive past the "road closed" signs.

On the plus side, there are now hundreds of extra cones in the immediate vicinity of the autoslalom school. :-)

I'll confirm with the City inspector tomorrow morning (I work for the City of Brampton) if the bridge will be closed or not. Maybe I can pull some strings and keep the bridge open. No promises but stay tooned!

Loopy
04-24-2009, 12:26 PM
The bridge will be open all weekend.

However, the north entrance into the Powerade Centre might be closed since the Contractors are installing a Sanitary line in the area. I'd be surprised if they have that entrance opened tomorrow. Anyways, the south entrance should still be open all weekend.

See y'all tomorrow!

AndrewR

Excellent!! Can you have the 401 closed except for us tomorrow too!!

See you!
