I have been in the market for a new stand alone for a while - something more capable than I am. Has anyone here used ViPec?

Operates on 4 to 12 cylinder engines, (fuel and Spark)
MAF, MAP and TPS control
MAP control with 5 built in MAP sensors to 7 Bar
Built in Barometric sensor to correct for barometric changes in real time
An exhaust gas analyzer can be wired directly into it.
Electronic Throttle control
Built in temperature inputs for cold starts and running
Variable valve timing control up to 4 cams
Closed loop for low speeds, on boost and Cruise fuel efficiency
Closed loop WOT
Boost Control that can be set for each gear and or load
Fuel map 20 x 22 = 440 zone, configurable for load and RPM
5 D Fuel Mapping
Precise control of injectors and from one cylinder to another
Spare injector drivers for Alcohol injection or similar.
Three different types of ignition inputs-Reluctor, Optical or Hall Sensors
Preset trigger patterns for all the Automakers
Turbo cool down function
Antilag function
Launch Control with 2-step rev limiter
Traction Control in first gear
Flat shifting function even for H pattern
Data Logging
A/C Control
Cooling Fan control
USB connection
A host of digital and analog inputs and outputs

Optional Knock Control ( i want this)

Then the ViPEC QuickTune software

"Its official and tested we have now added closed loop wideband support to the ViPEC. What this means is you can set the ECU to look at your wideband output and maintain tune. SO to explain this a little farther other ECU's may have closed loop but what this means is after you have tuned it using the autotune. You can simply set the ViPEC to look at the wideband input and if it is off it will adjust itself to get to the set AFR you set in an AFR target table. Unlike other ECU's this will work at WOT and underboost as well. If you are worried about a wideband reading wrong you can also set the amout of adjustment in percentage for piece of mind."

I'm thinking that there won't be many people using Vi-Pec EMS at the moment. I know Ray Hall formerly of Autronic, and anything that he develops or has developed for himself will be "Top Shelf". He's had many many years of experience with Engine Management systems so I wouldn't think twice about going that route.

I've been extremely happy with the Autronic that Ray Hall (along with Richard) put together and marketed, and I'm betting that Vipec will be no less reliable.

Ray left Autronic about 3 years ago to form this new company.
