There are a quite a few of 17x8 inch 05-07 BBS STI wheels around for pretty good prices. I know these wheels are pretty light and have a 5x114.3 (I know 04's were 5x100) bolt pattern and +53 offset.

I'm thinking of picking up a used set for autox use on my MX-5 since they are pretty close to my stock wheels spec wise, 17x7, 5x114.3 and a +55 offset. But the centrebore of the MX-5 is 67.1 mm and I think the STI is 56.1 mm.

Is possible to enlarge the centre bore? Does anyone have any advice or caveats for these wheels? Any one here selling a set? Thanks.

Boring out the center bore is pretty common practice. Almost any rim repair place or machine shop will do it for you. Andrew at WTZ (when they owned Tiremag corp) used to do it on site. I believe he still has contacts to where to get it done.

I used to do it when I worked at a rim and tire place in highschool. It would only take about 15 min to do a set. It does require a big lathe though (I don't have access to one now)

Not since I was in highschool.

I do work in waterloo though and frequently attend the RIM job fair...
