The Mustang AWD 500 dyno is a big unit. As you can see it filled the whole rig:

I had the pleasure of offloading all the pieces with this. I was like a little kid with his Tonka trucks.

This is the same dyno Cobb and many OEM manufacturers use for testing and tuning. While it's more expensive than a Dynojet, I felt that the extra features it has are well worth the money. Loading cars more similarly to real world conditions is what Mustang dynos are best known for. By putting in the approximate vehicle weight and a power to maintain 50 MPH figure which we get from Mustang, the eddy current unit applies the appropriate amount of load on the dyno to simulate real world driving. We can also simulate different grades (slopes), run 1/4 mile passes, perform passing acceleration tests etc. on it. Since it's a variable load dyno we can perform steady state tuning as well as power pulls/sweeps.

Here's an example dyno graph:

Just to clarify...I'll still be road tuning cars. I'm just also offering testing and tuning on the dyno now. Cars will either be road/track tuned or they'll be tuned on the dyno and then checked on the road/track. Because this type of dyno simulates real world conditions better than others, less road/track testing/tweaking is necessary, but I still feel it's a vital part of any comprehensive tune.

If we didn't get back to you Thursday-Monday, this is why. It was quite a lot of work to get it unloaded, in place and all set up. Thanks for your patience. :)
