Are driving shoes like uber R compounds - that is, they wear out really fast? My driving shoes are, after a year, very slippery. At first I thought it was dust, something on the sole, etc., but I've come to the conclusion that they're slippery. I literally slide off the pedals while heel and toeing - which I'm not good enough at to handle my shoe sliding around. So tell me folks, is this another hidden expense in the quest to go fast. Driving shoes wear out almost as fast as Z214's - but while they stick they're amazing? Do I need lapping shoes, pit shoes and serious solosprint shoes?

Do you need fire resistant shoes?

If not I've been using Piloti Prototypo for 3 years now for both solo2,track days and half the time as my regular summer shoes and there just starting to show wear on the heel.

Thanks for the suggestion. They don't need to be fire resistant so that may be a shoe to consider.

Pfaff Tuning in Woodbridge carries them.

So does Marcor if I recall.
