which OEM muffler will fit my car

i have a 2001RS

the exhaust is stock

the weld around the pipe leading into my muffler has come loose and now my car has a nice rumble.. but it also has a scraping noise whenever the car moves around :D

i welding it would probably be a waste of effort, so i want to replace just the axle back piece with the cheapest thing i can find.

other than a 95-01 RS direct replacement, what else would fit without any modification?

The 2004 RS / 2002 WRX will almost fit, the bends are in the correct location, there is an extra hanger on the axle back. Either way you'll need some minor modificaiton.

define minor.. will a hammer and brute force work, or would i need some drilling or cutting?

It requires rotating the flange, welding and that's about it. That's pretty minor.

For added performance sound (all it is is sound ;-) )look for and STI stock muffler. They can be made to fit also.
