Good description of how to clean the hubs. I have a drill attachment with velcro applied Scotch Brite pads to clean the hub surface. The kit is available from UAP / NAPA.

Now, if you were my brake tech, I would NOT be pleased if you clamped my brake hoses if you weren't gonig to then replace them for free, but it is a standard practice in the industry... Most of us "in the sport" don't let our fluid get old / burnt enough that it would affect the ABS if you didn't clamp them. If its older rubber hose, there's a good chance that they won't "spring back" to their original form either.
