This is from Ross Wood: workers are needed.

Helpers are needed for the Maple Leaf Winter Rally, which will be an all-night winter event on the night of February 20-21, 2010. The MLWR is the second event in the 2010 Ontario Road Rally Championship. Start and Finish will be at the Bancroft Fish & Game Club on Hwy. 62 South in Bancroft.

This rally will be a winter endurance event with simple instructions on the traditional winter rally roads in the Bancroft area. First car will leave the Start at 10 PM and will arrive at the Finish around 6 AM.

We need 10 control teams to cover the event. Ideally we like to have a HAM operator as part of each team.

Volunteers would need to be in Bancroft no later than 8:30 PM on Saturday, February 20, and would be treated to breakfast in the morning. Note: We will attempt to accommodate requests for not working the entire night i.e. start late or finish early.

If you can assist, please respond to Ross Wood at ross.wood@sympatico.ca

This is the second call for workers for the Maple Leaf Winter Rally, which will run in the Bancroft area on the night of February 20-21. We thank those of you who have already volunteered, however we do need about six more helpers to assist with checkpointing and to run Quiet Zone observation and radars.

The Rally will start and finish in Bancroft and runs on the great roads in the Bancroft/Coe Hill area. The mid rally break will be in Bancroft.

First car is away at 10:00 P.M. and finishes around 6:00 A.M. The worker meeting will be held at 8:30 P.M. As always we treat our workers very well with a meal in the morning and numerous other perks.

Please respond ASAP to indicate if you can assist at the MLWR. Advise also if you have any special needs or requests.

Thanks.

Ross Wood, Chief Control Marshal ross.wood@sympatico.ca

As Cam found at First Frost... half the fun of the night for the volunteers is making it from one CP to the next! ;-)
