Wheel fitment on an e36 BMW

OK - I went to the bimmerforums site - not much help there.

Jeff over at JRP has some Enkei NT03+M wheels for sale at a not bad price.

I like the look, and they are strong (according to reviews I have seen)

Here's the issue.

The only size close to what I want in a 5X120 bolt pattern is a 17X10 ET38. (no tires yet)

I'm not overly concerned with interference on the fenders (very fixable) - but I need to know if I'm going to have issues interfering with any other part of the car.

I don't want to have them shipped etc to find out they won't fit etc.

Any assistance is appreciated.

If what I know is correct the stock offset on those BMW's was around 40 with an 8 inch wheel. That being said if you put a 10 inch wheel you will be 25mm closer to the strut; probably not a good idea You should probably be looking at 15-18mm offset in that width and fender flares for sure.

ON SECOND THOUGHT: Sell the POS and buy a Ford
Pinto - they'll be less problematic in the long run.

Not to worry - the plan is to remove as much of the BMW-ness as possible. I just want the shell and suspension.

I think I found a source for the D-Force wheels that I was originally looking at. - 17X9 will be a much easier fit.

At the moment we (my father and I) are re-building a ford 302 power plant.

While the engine is getting up to speed - I'm working on gutting the car and sourcing other parts like wheels and tires, seats etc etc.

I don't see the engine being finished for at least a few months, so we're going to use the BMW 6cyl for now - unfortunately it's an automatic with 245K on it. At least I won't care when we blow it up. :-)
