Steve and I attended the RSO AGM held this past saturday on behalf of SPDA.
First I'd like to thank everyone that sent in their vote by proxy. We received 57 votes by proxy, 2 of our own votes and 1 club vote for a total of 60 votes. All 7 RSO affiliated clubs were in attendance at the AGM with a toal of just over 150 votes.
There were two RSO board positions up for election this year; Secretary and VP of Navigational Rally.
Rita Moore was re-elected as VP of Navigational Rally, Rita has been doing a great job over the past few years and is a welcome return to the position.
Rita's husband Paul Moore was elected as club Secretary. Paul has been attending the majority of RSO meetings and will be an asset to the Board.
Paul replaces long standing club Secretary Ross Wood who has and continues to be an integral member of RSO. Ross is responsible for several behind the scenes aspects of rallying in Ontario and is truly an unsung hero. He will remain very active within RSO and the MLRC.
In awards Stephen Deneka and Trevor Hancher tied for 1st place Novice Driver in the Ontario Road Rally Cup (ORRC). Opal Gamble and Ted Doig tied for 1st place Novice Navigators. This allowed SPDA to take 1st place in the club award for highest ORRC points.
Chris Martin and co-driver Phil Narini took home several awards as they won the OPRC title for 2009.
