If you have a RSO Calendar Card, the date for this rally was printed incorrectly. It is NOT this weekend, May 1st, it is actually May 8th.

Event flyer:

Expect a creative and technical rally from Dennis around the Campbelleville / Milton area.

The first SNATR (Saturday Night at the Rallies) is integrated into this event, and is the ideal way to get the family introduced to rally. Bring the kids in the back seat and let them help with the route, it's not a problem. But download and fill out the Minor waivers on the following page:

SNATR's are super simple instructions that basically teach you navigational rally if you just want to see what Nav Rally is about.

Tim, Perry, we hope you've made it out from under the cloud and will be at this one!

In lieu of Steve's usual, detailed report (hint!!) let me say that the Blossom went off very well with mildly mixed weather (ok, there was sunshine, a couple of showers and even a snow flurry at one point), the usual tricky but fair(?) instructions from Dennis and some good results.

As usual, this rally had a LOT of check points which always tests the crews - some of which were DIY and based on distance (did you go the correct route) rather than time - a good twist which still caught some crews out.

Trevor and Ted had to miss out on the rally, but Trevor was manning a number of check points - thanks to him and all the others who supported the rally.

In terms of results, Steve and Opal won the Intermediate class...ok, so they were the only ones in the class, but intermediate and expert ran on exactly the same instructions, so their score of 5.4 minutes compared very favourably with the expert crews' scores (the Moores won expert with 4.5 penalties, the Leonards were second on 7.6)

In Novice, Perry and I were fortunate enough to take first place - mainly due to a very strong first leg. This was exactly one year from Perry's rallying debut and only his 7th event so hats off to him - my job was easy. Similarly, in only their third rally Kyle and Lucas had a great run to 4th in Novice. They too were running very well early on and we enjoyed the tussle between their shiny black STi and our ancient TR!! We clearly need to keep an eye on these guys as they gain experience...

No doubt when Steve gets a minute, he'll give chapter and verse on the event - and post the results (hint #2), but I recommend this well-run but sadly under-attended rally to other crews.

Heh! Sorry Tim, I'm in Winnipeg working silly hours. I can, however, refer everyone to KWRC's results page...

Although the ORRC only had 10 cars, it was nice to see that the Leg B had 11 people participating in the SNATR portion of the event, which is designed at folk new to rally. Here for more info:
