Trevor did the route for this one, and I did all of the instructions. It's going to be a fun family event!

*** KWRC Presents our August SNATR #4 ***
*****************************************

This is event #4 in our beginner level navigational rally series; "Saturday Night At The Rally". The grand finale is a bit longer to enjoy some fantastic roads and scenery north of Cambridge! We were aiming for two hours, but there were just too many fun roads and we didn't want to leave any out! So it will be just around 3 hours.

Saturday August 28, 2010

Start and Finish location:

Williams Coffee Pub
4500 King Street E, Just north of the 401
Kitchener, ON
519 653-9887

Note that we have changed the start time to avoid running in the dark!

Registration opens at 3:30 PM
Car Zero starts at 5:00 PM
Finish about 8:00 PM

Cost is $20.00 per car. (Cash please, we don't have debit or Visa)

The route runs north of Cambridge using 60% paved roads (the rest are good packed gravel) and is about 150 km long. The instructions are simple; accumulative and incremental distance and turns, tulip diagrams, lists, paragraphs, clock faces, substitution style, etc. If you arrive at 3:30 we'll have time to show and teach you all of the note styles. It's all simple to work through with no tricks.

No special equipment is required but a watch, pen and clipboard will come in handy. If you are running towards the back of the rally it will be getting dark near the end so a working interior light or small flashlight could help. A calculator will help with the timing but most beginner competitors wisely decide to concentrate on keeping on route rather than doing exact timing.

Great event Steve, everyone seemed happy with the route you and Trevor created. And your hidden checkpoints really cause people to overreact on the braking.
