View Full Version : Official 2011 Picton Hotel Thread

There's been some rumours going around that Picton hotels are getting booked up quickly.

I've managed to find one that has rooms as of right now, and I'll keep posting them up as I hear back from the different hotels.

NB: I will be omitting the more expensive, spa type hotels from my search, simply because I don't think the majority of us want to spend $200+/night all while paying for gas to get out there.

So far I have:

Sportsman Hotel:
2 rooms with 2 beds at $90+tax
6 rooms with one double bed at $80+tax
6 rooms with 2 double beds and kitchen at $100+tax
1 units with 2 double beds s/sofa and kitchen at $110+tax

You'll have to call them directly to book as they don't hold rooms: 613-476-2424.

Bump.

Just heard back from Queen's Inn. They are fully booked that weekend for a wedding as well as the Picton Harbour Inn.

I would highly suggest booking soon as I do believe, the rest of the places will be much pricier.

Anybody want to split a two bed room for Friday and Saturday night? With or without a kitchen, not interested in snorers.

I'm booked at the Sportsman...

Thanks for the leg-work Mel!

Also booked at the Sportsman. Thanks Mel!

Although I'll probably only keep this as a last resort (a Resort it is not). The Sportsman is... well... interesting. :-o lol

There's definitely other places. You just have to shell out $150+++ per night to stay there! LOL

Booked at the Sportsman as well. It looks like its straight out of the 1970's but at least its a bed. Thanks Mel!

I'm booked at the Sportsman, too. Had to take a room with a kitchen. Anybody looking to split can PM me.

Non-smoker, non-snorer only, please.

I took my own room. As for snorer... you might want to bribe the owner to not put you beside STeveD.

I heard the stories from last year. Maybe I should re-book at the Queen's Inn.

I don't think there are any room's at the Queen's Inn, but there may have been a cancellation since I last spoke to them. They told me it was fully booked for a wedding that weekend.

Oops. Forgot the smiley face.

I'm not really considering moving, but I did hear that 'beside' should probably be 'within two rooms to all sides, including above and below.'

If Steve's snoring is going to be that bad, perhaps we can get the owners to give him the room on the third floor. :-P

probably rent a cottage... there's some nearby for reasonable rates (about 10-20kms from picton).

Thanks for the info! As of April 27 at 18:15, I was informed the Sportsman has the following rooms left for May 27/May 28:

2 rooms with one double bed at $80+tax
2 rooms with 2 double beds and kitchen at $100+tax

Still got a spare bed in my room if anyone's stuck.

Fair warning, I plan to imbibe some wobbly pops, play the silly electrocution game and possibly sample the local nightlife at the Hayloft til the small hours.

GaryW

I also have a spare bed for both nights.

Unike my party going Irish friend, though, my wobbly pop consumption will be more moderate and I'll be fast asleep during the small hours.

SajBT and Notthesail I sent you guys a PM.

Just writing it here because from the looks of it no one every logs on just views stuff as guest

SajBT36

My room is now filled with me, Paul K and Travis T and whatever we can coax out of the Hayloft...

...probably ticks.

AndrewR
05-18-2011, 01:32 PM
Hopefully only ticks, and none of the other type of STi

miatagirl77
05-18-2011, 01:44 PM
He's got a gf now, so no STi's for him!

I canceled my booking at the Sportsman, I'm not staying 2 nights, just the Sat, so there's at least one double bed room available right now.

SajBT36

At least no new ones anyway Mel.

I hope they're serving beer when I get to hell.

Ewwww Barry's infected!!!

That should be a warning for you all. I'm sure Barry looks very attractive after a few drinks, but stay away. Or else you're going to grow green stuff in your pants! LOL

Well I got a place to stay :). So, now for business, where and what are we drinking? :P.

tashko
05-19-2011, 11:47 PM
Well, I still have space in my room but I'm holding it open for the last minute occupancy...

Maybe the after-after-party because I'll have some good beer, being the beer-snob that I am.

Does the sportsman have a common area where we can all hangout?

gOt_rally
05-20-2011, 01:30 AM
We will get along just fine then cuz I too an a beer snob :P. All my friends drink domestic I like brining beers that no one can pronouce, and usualy are German.

JoeT

Yes, the sportsman is quite accomodating, we use the back area for the hang out, and usually put out tables and chairs.

SajBT36
05-20-2011, 08:02 AM
I do like my common, buck-a-beer, domestic swill. 24 James Ready? Oh yes I do think so...

If anyone feeling REALLY stupid, a bottle of Jagermeister could be added to the cooler.

gOt_rally
05-20-2011, 11:27 AM
Only if someone brings redbull too, the only way to drink Jager, is jagerbombs :P.

gOt_rally
05-20-2011, 11:29 AM
James ready is the only buck a beer that actually tastes like something relatively close to beer. When cold it's pretty decent, plus you don't taste anything after 3-4 so at that point who cares.

SajBT36
05-20-2011, 01:44 PM
Don't taste anything, feel anything or fear anything. It's great.

I have a MUCH better Jagermeister drink than Jagerbombs. It is on.

gOt_rally
05-21-2011, 03:44 PM
Do tell, cuz Jagerbombs make you feel like your 2 steps away from having a heart attack by the end of the night.
