Hi guys,
i play in a ball hockey league on weekdays, mostly at the RINX (near yorkdale, orfus road), sometimes in other arenas.
this is not "field" hockey, we play in standard ice rinks (devoid of ice) using regular sticks and those orange plastic balls, standard hockey rules with a few twists (floating blue line)
full contact sport, however extreme aggression gets you a penalty, if you have the ball and are at the boards, expect to be slammed.
games are TWO periods of 15 minutes each, and remember, you are running the whole time :)
we need some extra guys that could commit to a full season
cost is around 150-170 for 10-12 games + playoffs (if we make it)
my team is in the lowest tier, so no superstar skill set is required, just determination and enthusiasm!
equipment required:
stick, gloves, helmet; helmet can be cage/visor-less but working strap is required
cup, shinguard, knee pads recommended
jerseys are provided
there is also a 4 dollar "entry fee" every time you show up, this money goes to pay the ref's
our average turn out is 9-11 guys + golie, ideally we would like to have 15 guys for 3 offence and 3 d lines
