Gas pickup issues

my buddy has a 2002 wrx and even with 3/4 tank he has gas pickup issues on hard right corners while autocrossing

is this a common thing? do all you guys run with full tanks (i cant possibly believe this)

any ideas what it could be?


i told him i'd post up and see if anyone has any ideas

The 93-01 use to have this problem, the 02+ should have this issue.

There is a pickup that take gas from the left side to the right side (or vice versa, I can't remember), the hose could be disconnected or one of his line could be blocked. I believe 02 had a filter in the tank, that could be check too. That's just some guess...

I have that issue with my 93 Legacy at the track, I have to top it up after each session to be on the safe side. Swirl pot is on the to do list.
