Looking for a 2004 WRX Transmission

A friend of mine out east (Fredericton, NB) is looking for a 2004 WRX Transmission to reassemble the vehicle for sale. This car had an STi motor in it, and apparently it was hard on the tranny.

Rebuilds are apparently $1,800 and even re-sale units are $1,200.

Would you know of anymore options or avenues that he could explore to aquire a used one at a reasonable price?

I should have mentioned manual transmission (5-speed), but it was implied.

Can't imagine anyone who wants a WRX with an automatic transmission.

1200 is reasonable... i remember a few NCSCers who need some and i think they were around 900-1200 range... this was mainly for 02-05wrx.
