OK. Company named Factory Five has a new build being released this year called the 818. The chassis etc from this company are supposedly quite good.

The 818 is set up to accept a WRX drive-train. What kind of cost am I looking at to source a donor Engine/transmission? Best to purchase a whole car? Or can engines be sourced relatively easily?

If you're going to go WRX, I'd rather go STI, cost will be anywhere from 7K = 11K ish engine tranny brakes harness ecu etc. etc. etc.

Engines and drive train are easy to source but you have to make sure that you get all of the parts you will need. I agree with Joe that if you are going to go this route you might as well go with an STi. JDM have higher red line and transmissions are geared lower but are 2l. Lots of homework that needs to be done before and $ is committed.

Wow! I just had a look at their web site and this kit looks promising. I just happen to have a 2002 WRX which I'm using during the winters (I was debating to sell the car), however I think perhaps it will be worthwhile to see how good this kit is and use my car as a donour vehicle.
