Making tons of progress getting my '04 WRX ready for some performance track-work (see before and after complilation picture below), thanks to some incredible support from fellow gearheads and members of our auto Club (STeveD, Caveman & Blake et al).

One of the things that still looks tired though is the headlight lens covers.

Are these serviceable items? Can they be disassembled and cleaned, or do they need to be replaced? See photos below.

Go to Canadian Tire and buy yourself the "Turtle Wax" headlight restore kit. It actually works, you won't regret it. Follow the instructions carefully.

Will do, JoeT. Thanks!

You'll be amazed at the difference after a good polishing. Downside is now you'll have to do it every couple years as the cloudiness comes back quicker. Easy enough to redo.

Just to confuse you (or give you another option, depending on how you look at it) I used the 3M kit and the results were awesome. You'll need a drill that you can run at a low speed.

Tips (for any kit):
Mask a larger area than you'll think you need, then go a little bigger, and double up. Or remove the headlight assembly from the car.
If you find yourself thinking "That should be good enough", it won't be. Spend some more time on that step or you'll wish you had.
