If I'm going to rebuild my EJ205 in due course I will need to do some planning. Please help me figure out how to get the parts and make it all happen.

As a context, my upgrade path for power is:

o 16G-XT turbo
o OEM '04 STi turbo-back exhaust,
o open source tune (Mike @ innovative) and
o STi Pink injectors (565 cc)

So are the tasks seem to be as follows:

1. Remove EJ 205 and strip it down to bare block and heads,
2. Purchase re-build gasket kit, bearings and new pistons,
3. Deliver block, heads and pistons to machine shop for:
- head and block deck flatness verification,
- bore and hone, and
- valve job.
4. Collect block, heads and pistons for re-assembly.

By the way, I've rebuilt a small-block Chevy when I was a youth.

What other engine parts are part of a typical rebuild, where do I order parts from, what machine shop should I use and what is this likely to all cost?

Oh yes, this is going to be a economical rebuild. Thanks in advance,

Figure clutch and timing belt change "while you're in there". Also probably fuel pump upgrade.

Also found the "2004 Service Manual" from the ken-gilbert.com website:

Does this seem to be the right reference for an engine rebuild and ongoing maintenance?
