A brief session. First warm up lap you can skip. Also after seeing John in the dirt with his tire bouncing across the track. I uploaded the wrong edit, and I have DSL so it will take too long to redo. :)

I didn't bother with a camera for the first few sessions. John Silva in the red Civic was wicked fast and beat me at the Time Attack the next day.

Great point of view on that camera, and good engine sound. I have to do that as well. Is it a GoPro? Did you use the fully enclosed case to reduce wind noise?

Thanks. The secret of good GoPro is to get something in the foreground - road, a tire, etc. They are extremely wide angle cameras and shrink everything. As for sound, I run two cameras, this audio is from a closed box off the bumper WITH and open box off my rear wheel. And when I say mixed, they are just lined up in my editing program and played at the same time. I have yet to come up with a perfect system for sound.

Man, your world rally blue STi has some staggering acceleration - at any starting speed! Nice line through the bends too.

I have yet to come up with a perfect system for sound.

For sound I have experimented with a Rode directional mic mounted on the back and pointed at the exhaust outlet. The trick is to turn the filters WAY up so you don't get heavy distortion. Judge the results for yourself:

That does sound good. I was looking at a stand alone audio system too. Did you just run this mic into the GoPro - I assume?

SO. WANT. PICTON. How many events are there a year? Please say more than this week-end...

I ran the mic to an SLR (Cannon T4i) I had mounted in the cabin.

If you want more high-speed tracking - check out Centralia Ontario. There is an auto-x, full road course made from the runways and V-Max sessions.

Steve, sorry... no footage of your car at all, you must've only been near me on the runs when I didn't have the gopro recording.
