Hello,

Anyone knows any good shop around gta that could build me 2 bracket seats (driver and passenger)?
There are no companies out there that does brachets for my Caliber so I am stuck to custom builds ;(.

Are you looking for sliding or fixed? Is this for non-tilting race seats?

This is going to be like a hit from the past...
I never got any notification that anyone replied so I didn't bother checking (plus other stuff got in the way)... sorry Steve!

What I need is just the metal frame/bracket that mounts directly to the floor of the car.
I already have the sliders and the chairs.

I've been looking for a shop that can do this but no one seems to be fabricating these... :(... or if they do the prices are mind blowing... O.o

So, I come up with an idea where I can build my own, but in order to do so I need some wide, thick steel flat bars, but I am unsure where to buy these...
Any metal shops/stores where I can go and look for these flat bars!?

Your seat is only as safe as it's mount, so... best to do it right. Rally shops know the FIA specs for seat mounts. You should request proper bar spacing with no slider slots on the mounting holes for increased safety.

Page 20 of this article has seat mount guidelines. http://www.fia.com/sites/default/files/regulation/file/253%20%2814-15%29_11.04.2014-corrected%2026.06.2014.pdf

True, the frame must be strong or else is useless!

The mount on the Caliber is very simple and straight forward it will be impossible to mess up. All I need is 2 sturdy flat bars for each side - thick and wide enough.
All I have to do is cut them to size and drill the mounting points.
I plan to drill and tap the sliders to the flat bars.

Need to make some time and pay a visit to metal supermakets. I guess/hope they are open to public not only businesses.

Thanks Steve!

P.S. the mail notifcation for new posts doesn't seems to work for me :(

It was selected off in your Profile, Eugen. You should receive an Email for this one.

Don't Forget backing plates if you're just bolting them in.

Backing plates is always a good idea...
