CARS (Canadian Association of Rally Sport) has forwarded the following product recall, and posted notice that this model of HANS has been recalled and is no longer eligible for use in CARS sanctioned events.

To All Competitors, Organizers and Technical support personnel: CARS BULLETIN No 2014-03
As per the attached Notice, Leatt Corporation has recalled all Leatt MRX Head and Neck restraint devices due to a materials quality issue.
Effective immediately these devices are no longer eligible for use in CARS sanctioned events, and their SFI certification is no longer valid.
If you have an affected device please direct your inquires to the contact information provided within the att. document.

PRODUCT: Leatt MRX Head & Neck Restraint System (HANS) only
Leatt Corporation’s quality assurance procedures identified a materials flaw in our Head and Neck Restraint System (“MRX”) used exclusively in auto racing. The device can crack unexpectedly.
CONSUMER - WHAT TO DO
STOP using your MRX device. No other product is affected.
CONTACT your point of purchase to return your MRX device for a replacement, refund or credit.
