Mazda transponder key and remote - help

I know, it's not a Subaru, but I found a really good 2007 Mazda3 for my son Evan to go to college this fall. We only have one ignition key and remote, though. Does anyone know of a place/dealer in the Hamilton-Orillia-Oshawa triangle that does NOT want to charge $125+ for mating new keys and remotes to the car? Thanks in advance.

Looks like there's a special tool that Mazda uses to update the ECU to accept the key. You maybe SOL dude.

I noticed that Canadian Tire also offers the key programming service. Not sure of pricing.
