    Uploading photos to the Gallery

It is nice to see some new photos added to the gallery. Autox photos seem to be few and far between. We'll just have to take our own.

We have several ways to add photos, one being the builtin web interface. This is good for small numbers of photos. Don't worry about telling the form exactly how many you want to add, just add them and submit. This is a good time to add a caption to the photos so you don't have to do them later.

Another method that has more flexibility is a Java app called "Gallery Remote". You can download it from: Gallery Remote download page. . If you already have a Java JVM you can take the smaller package, otherwise take the big one and you'll have Java for other uses too.

Using Gallery Remote you will create a profile with this url:
    "http: //spda-online.ca/modules/xoopsgallery/"
    Then your username and password.

Connect and then navigate to the base album, create a new album if you want and have fun. Don't forget to add captions and descriptions so everyone will know who you are or what the pictures represent. Take pride in your ride!

If you have a large quantity of photos let me know and I can arrange an upload that is suitable and easy.

Enjoy. Also, people can submit comments to photos. So if you want to say something (nice we hope) about someone's picture then do so. Random internet users also have a chance to comment.

Okay, I've tried this. All I get are: "Upload error: Command 'add-item' unknown."

    What next?

Send them to me, and I'll do it?

I haven't looked at zip file uploads. What does work is the Java client. Get it here. Choose with or without the JVM included depending on what you already have.

Then create a profile with the "Add Gallery URL" tab. Click "New" and:
Alias: whatever you want to call it.
    Username: your site name
    Password: your site password
    Gallery Type: standalone
    Gallery URL: http://spda-online.ca/modules/xoopsgallery/

OK on that and you can then login, browse to the desired album (optionally create a new album), and upload your pics. You can choose to resize the pics as they upload. The other options are easy to understand.

I beg to differ: Tell me what I'm doing wrong.... I disabled my firewall, so it doesn't appear to be that.

AndrewR: If you have an Email address that can accept a 21MB file, please PM me with it.

    Hi Don,

No, I didn't find the problem. Andrew was so kind as to upload them for me. If he doesn't mind helping out after every event, we'll be golden.
