    I think the short answer would be that a stiffer front bar reduces front body roll, thereby allowing the tires to maintain a more constant contact patch and reducing rolling onto the sidewalls. Going too extreme with the front bar though I would think might cause lifting of the inside front wheel, which would I'm sure drastically increase understeer ;-)

    my comments on the front bar were when the events were on very tight courses, the low speed turns on these courses severeely limited front end grip.

    This post is 2 years old and a lot has been learned since then and the courses have changed dramaticly
