Ted and I developed this presentation for SPDA's rally school. It's bullet points, meant to be delivered by an experienced rallyist to expand on the bullet points, but there may be some thoughts here about working together in the car that you don't find elsewhere.

If there's enough interest, we could try to deliver this by Skype. But, for example, it took us over four hours to present what you see here.

There's more hand-outs that go with this presentation that I'll add later.

In fairness, that was the very first time we gave that presentation and, to be honest, I think that we may have digressed a bit too much with random anecdotes. I'm sure that that if we were to focus a bit more, the whole presentation could be covered inside the 3-3.5 hour range.

In other words, when giving the presentation, we have to remember to

    - Stay on the road
    - Stay on course
    - Stay on time

This was true of Road Rally 101, and my only feedback to the presenters. Be clear on the key messages and reinforce them repeatedly. Beginners aren't ready for confusing detail quite yet.

Communicators rule of thumb; tell them what you're going to tell them, tell them, and tell them what you told them. : D

Brooke Jacob's Rally Rule! This is a great tool that he shared with me and that I wish I had earlier! I do all my manual timing with a calculator, but heck, if you happen to be on one of the common CAS values, this is much faster!
