Jeannie MacGillivary of MCO posts about the RWR:

Winter has come to the Lanark Highlands, and our back roads are a thing of beauty, winding over hills and into small valleys, with a light dusting of snow to give your winter tires a workout. Just the thing to light a fire in the heart of a rallyist!

You won’t want to miss out on the MCO Rideau Winter Rally this Saturday, January 21! It is the second event in the Ontario Road Rally Cup (ORRC) series. Please register at http://www.oldrallysport.on.ca/orrcentry.html.

The rally will be about 190 km in length, about 75% gravel. PLEASE NOTE that this will be a winter event on little-used but winter-maintained rural roads. Be prepared for winter conditions. This event will run into night-time, so make sure you have good lights.

Rally HQ is at the Perth Restaurant on 23 Gore Street in Perth, Ontario. Please see http://www.pbase.com/robert_ottawa/image/129242848and http://www.pbase.com/robert_ottawa/image/129242842..

You will note some changes from previous events, the first being a later start.

Registration opens at 3:00 p.m. Car 0 is out at 4:30 p.m., and will finish at about 8:00 p.m. The restaurant is staying open late for us.
Our Routemaster, Robert Roaldi, has been putting his considerable skills to the test to bring you fun and challenge.
As with last November's event, navigators will have to work a little for their pay. Robert is not planning on a brain buster and never attempts to get anyone lost, but you'll have to pay attention.

The Rideau Winter Rally is the second event in the ORRC series, and the first event in the 2012 MCO Doppelganger Rally Series.

Looking forward to seeing you all on Saturday!
