I'm planning my basement renovation to include a race/game station, and iRacing is near the top of my list - I just don't know anyone that has experience with it and can compare it to the real thing.

I have a G27 Wheel and Playseat cockpit. I've always ran with Gran Turismo 5, so iRacing has been a new experience. I've only just begun, so I'm still getting used to it.

Overall, I know that it is more realistic than GT5.

resurecting this thread. I recently joined iracing as it seems i can't get to any real events anymore ( unfortunate health issues in my family )
I race with the casc guys on wed nights but would be interested in talking to others about thier setups and simulators as well as computor builds, running mine off my laptop for now but I see new toys on the horizon.

I couldn't get adequate frame rates with my laptop once a race started. Practice, fine. Core i7, 32GB 1333Mhz ram, 1GB Nvidia card, 6Mbps down, 1Mbps up which is the fastest DSL in my area... every non-essential service disabled, Windows 7 64 bit 6.7 Experience Index (SSD gets the 6.7). I dropped the resolution, the # of cars, the detail, etc. Same crap.

I regret wasting my money equipping my account to run the CASC-OR series.

I'd rather run X-Box Forza 4 or Horizon. I never get lag.

85fps for me which is adequate. its not ideal by any means.
many upgrades to happen over the summer
